You will be involved in interacting with the customers, understanding the requirements of the products, creating a formulation, procuring ingredients, create the product at lab scale and assist the customer in scaling it to production through third party manufacturers. This would involve identifying the ingredients, the suppliers, the process, formulating the product and being responsible for delivery of the same. You will be required to conduct shelf-life test/studies and work on enhancing shelf life of the products. You will be required to reach out to Universities and Incubation centers to understand their facilities and use them as required. You will also be required to understand the issues related to food safety, regulatory and compliance including setting up manufacturing processes and controls to ensure the product meets the market requirements. You may be required to also do plant visits/audits to check for their suitability. You may be required to also conduct other audits to support the team.
Candidates must have a degree in Food Science/Technology/Engineering/Microbiology with 4-6 years of work experience in new product formulation. Must have good problem solving skills, good communication skills and must be a team player. Must understand nutrition and functional foods. Should have strategic thinking to be able to spot market trends and build a pipeline of products to address the needs. Should also understand FSMS and have basic auditing skills.
